As our clients become more educated and enthusiastic about the health of our planet, its resources and our children’s future, the desire for green building becomes more prevalent.
Macleay/Rabhchan is a member of the US Green Building Councel and the National Association of Home Builders. We can provide the means to LEED certify your home, which means we provide an independent, third party verification in that our projects meet the highest green building and performance measures. All certified projects are nationally recognized for demonstrating that a building is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live, play and work.
There are both environmental and financial benefits to green building:
- Lower operating costs and increased asset value
- Reduce waste that goes to land fills
- Conserve energy and water
- Healthier and safer for the occupants
- Reduced harmful greenhouse gas emissions
- Qualify for tax rebates, zoning allowances and many other incentives
Not all of our clients want to be LEED certified but want to do something to help their community and planet. The options are many by utilizing solar energy, geothermal resources and wind power. Often we will recommend the conservation and reuse of existing building material that otherwise would be thrown away.
We encourage our clients to take a holistic approach when considering green building; adopting this frame of mind will be an important ingredient when assembling the team and putting a design together.
